Coming this November: Agency Wars and The Movember Foundation are proud to introduce “Creative Wars”
Charities Have Been Hard Hit
This year, charities like The Movember Foundation that depend on events like the Agency Wars’ annual Boxing Gala have been hard hit by COVID-19. We need a way for Movember to come out bigger, better, and stronger. If you’re in the creative industries—advertising, marketing, or media—here’s your chance to reinvent the way charities market themselves.
The Challenge: The Creative Heavyweight Championship is on The Line.
From the people who brought you “Agency Wars” charity boxing, here’s a brand new challenge: pit your creative smarts against the best out there. This time it’s not your body on the line, it’s your mind that’ll be doing all of the heavy lifting. Pitch for the 2021 Movember Foundation’s next big Canadian national campaign and the Creative Wars “Creative Heavyweight Championship” belt.
To help you win, we’ll team you up with legendary New York creative mentors. Winners will receive an all-expenses paid trip and VIP tickets for two to see a WBA championship game in 2021. Follow the challenge live on streaming video and vote for your favourite campaign. Are you in?
Anyone in the GTA creative space is eligible, including students. Whatever your current situation—undergrad, graduate, employed, laid-off, freelancing—represent yourself or your company. If you’ve got the creative smarts to solve the brief, you’re in.
How to Join:
In August, Creative Wars and The Movember Foundation will generate an RFP document (“Request For Proposal”) and make it available on the Creative Wars website. To be a contestant, go to the website, fill in the RFP submission document, attach sample(s) of your work in JPG form and fire it off. Convince us that you’ve got the creative chops to take on the challenge. You’ve got almost 3 weeks (20 days) to get your RFP submission completed and sent in.
A matchmaking panel of three of the leading Toronto creative directors will narrow down the RFP selections. Those on the long list will have four weeks to register and pay their $50 entry fee (which all goes to Movember), receive the creative brief for the next big Movember national fundraising campaign, and start work on their “preliminary response,” which will determine whether they make the short list. Our matchmaking panel will cull the preliminary responses down to a short list of six Finalists.
Our online moderator and host will be Nancy Tag, a legendary New York creative director and a program director/professor at City College of New York. Tag is the chief architect of City College’s Master of Professional Studies in Branding + Integrated Communications (BIC), a portfolio-driven graduate program that educates the next generation of cross-disciplinary thinkers and multi-cultural leaders who will help reimagine the communications industry and its impact on society.
Stay tuned for information.
The website will be live shortly. The RFP will be available in August. In the meantime, if you’ve got questions, please email info@agencywars.ca
